Neighborhood Burgers
I was driving past this neighborhood hamburger restaurant and noticed the pleasing neon lights in their front window and decided to stop and take a shot. When I was working from home about 3 years ago, I used stop in here for lunch once or twice a month. It's the kind of place where you can build your hamburger just the way you want it and they were always good! It's nice to have good places to eat so close to home. That is one of the many things I love about living in central Phoenix.

Looks good Sharon, does that sign indicate that you can have a cocktail with your burger haha! Sounds like a great plan!!
Original Hamburger Works is just south of McDowell Road and it was a particularly popular spot to stop before basketball games when the Phoenix Suns played their games at the Colleseum just down the road on McDowell.
My daughter and I drove by this place last Sunday and were reminded that we first went there I believe sometime in the 1980s. Not the best burger I ever had but one that I went back for occasionally. I was glad to see it was still around.
It's interesting that the place has been around for some time. Obviously it has a loyal following. Brightly lit and inviting; I'd go there.
I picked the wrong time to start a diet!
You are right, that neon light is very eye catching. Not just another Burger King.
a burger joint that doesn't have a drive-thru is a friend of mine.
It does catch the eye. I love small neighborhood places, but somehow I live out in the middle of nowhere. If you can figure that one out, let me know. :)
It has a nice, homey look and feel to it and if the food is good, too, it's bound to be a winner!
Nothing beats a good burger!
Very interesting. We have a new build-your-own-hamburger place, but I can't think of a locally owned place like this that has survived for many years.
A god burger is hard to beat. Love the neon.
I love Hamburger Works! It's a great place to meet up with friends.
As I am pretty picky with hamburgers that would definitively be a place for me to go to...
