Japanese Garden

Last weekend I made my very first trip to the Japanese Garden.  I'm embarrassed to say it is located very near where I live and this was the first time I'd visited.  It's a very beautiful little slice of land that makes you totally forget you are in the center of a desert.  They were having a display of ikibana floral arrangements made by students of a special class in the art of Japanese floral display.

I've added a photo of one of the arrangements I saw there.  I might post a few more in the days ahead.

  2. Waterfalls, bonsai's and koi fish, all make for a very serene situation Sharon. I bet you'll go back again!

  3. I've tried three times to respond and those damnable verification words are tripping me up! I love the visits to Japanese Gardens since they are often places of great simplicity and beauty with a feeling of serenity.

  4. It's not always easy to make time to visit places that are near home, is it? Glad you made the attempt and it sounds as though you'll be back there again.

  5. Nice! We had an awesome Japanese Garden where I used to live--Needless to say, I only saw pictures of it! Close to where I live, but never went!!!!

If you have a link for this place, please post it with the upcoming pics. I'd love to check it out.

  10. There was a Japanese garden just north of us in Ft. Lauderdale but we never made it up there despite lots of good intentions.

This is wonderful and I'm sure a place of calm and meditation as well as sheer physical beauty!
