Pictures from Phoenix and sometimes from the surrounding cities that make up the "Valley of the Sun"
Sometimes we just need to look at the microenvironment (or perhaps in photography, the macroenvironment!) to discover nature's beauty.
Flippin' Nora that is one big plant. wouldn't fancy having that sat on the kitchen window ledge
The close up looked like a lilly, not a desert plant.
You have too get up close to see what this amazing plant is up to!
Glad you shared both views. I prefer the tiny up close view, but they both have appeal.
I love agave. They can produce such lovely surprises.
It's a quite interesting post.
It is quite amazing what these blooms look like up close. One would have to really stop and look to see the real beauty (as you have captured here). ;)
I thought that it was a lily too!
It is very lily-like. Not what I would expect. If they had a bad fragrance, then today's word verification would apply: bufart
Good grief, that's the biggest bloomin' bloom I've ever seen!
How amazing Sharon, so interesting when you pull the image right in and see just how many of those gorgeous little flowers are all over the cactus.
I thought lily and could almost smell the fragrance.
Beautiful flower tree, I never seen before. What a pleasure to see warm and sunny place!
Agaves have the most amazing inflorescences!
