Taj Mahal
One of my favorite Indian Restaurants (Indian Delhi) has added this gorgeous mural to the wall that abuts the parking lot for the restaurant. You almost feel like you could walk into the scene.
The depth of the painting is perhaps enhanced by the fact that the four towers are placed in front of the Taj Mahal, whereas I think that they are actually at the four corners of the building. I will have to go check my photos to double check.
Bob might be right that the original is better, and Dave might be right about the towers' placements, but that is quibbling. This is a WONDERFUL mural for a local Indian restaurant. Bravo!
Where is Diana sitting on the bench looking miserable?
ReplyDeleteThat's a stunning piece of artwork-hope it adds to the whole experience.

ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the Indian restaurants in Phoenix, now I know.....THANKS!
ReplyDeleteNice artwork!
ReplyDeleteI was startled to see this on the portal and wondered if you were in Agra! Great mural.
ReplyDeleteIt even has reflections, what a great way to create atmosphere!

ReplyDeleteI really like murals like this one. It is so well done! I wonder who the artist is.(perhaps I should say, artists are)
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing. And you're right...it's like those chalk drawings on the sidewalk, where art and reality collide!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous - the colours are so rich!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried Indian cuisine and have attempted to get Tracy to go with me sometime. So far, she's a "no" vote. I'll keep trying.
ReplyDeleteYes, but the original is so much better.

ReplyDeleteI believe it will look even better after being a little weathered. I've been there and the real colours are absolutely lovely.
