Hello There!

I had my camera focused on this elaborate nest wedged between the arms of a large cactus when all of a sudden this cactus wren popped out to see what I was up to.  I like the way he's grabbed on to two cactus needles to support him at his front door.

  1. Your timing was perfect. I doubt that many predators would try to get this bird's chicks. Great place for a nest, but coming and going might be a little prickly!

  3. If this bird ever has an itchy back, it does not have to go far for a scratch. Amazing photo.

  4. I think is so amazing how these birds use a cactus for it's home, nest, and protection!

  11. How lucky that was! The birds that nest here need not worry about cats climbing up to raid the nest! Perfect protection.

  14. So intricate and beautiful are the ways of nature.
Look at the place where she has built the nest.
All those thorns will ensure total protection.
