The theme for June is under construction and I have to admit, this theme was somewhat of a challenge. Not because I couldn’t find any construction but, because construction sites are just not very photogenic. I’ve featured this building under construction before and I thought it might be the best choice for this theme. This is the new Maricopa County Superior Court Tower under construction in downtown Phoenix. This is the one that is being clad in copper siding. To read about the building, check my original post here.
The photos in the lower left and top left of the collage were taken a few days ago. The other photos were taken for the last several months whenever I happened to be in the neighborhood with my camera. I noticed in the two I took a few days ago that some of the copper has already oxidized and no longer shows a shiny patina.
The photo in the lower left shows the front of the building and across the frame around the lower floors is embedded this statement: THE FIRST DUTY OF SOCIETY IS JUSTICE.

I enjoy shooting construction sites, and I did do so yesterday, but still decided to not participate in the theme day. I like seeing the changes from day to day at a construction site.
ReplyDeleteNice photos, Sharon, for what many might consider a dull theme. I need to make a point of seeing this new building on my trip to Phoenix. I think it may have a lot of architectural character, something we don't always see in current construction.
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice looking building. You took beautiful photos of the ongoing constuction process. I looked for the ugliness of constuction.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that copper oxides differently in different climates. Another bit of information and education from another blogger. Brand new, it looks beautiful; I'd like to see it after the weather changes its appearance.
ReplyDeleteMy link to the portal for theme day photos does not work, hope you visit me anyway. That darn computer-voodoo is at work again!
Great collage and very interesting building.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great collage. I am really liking this building, especially the copper colors. I love how the sunlight reflects in it. I'm also glad you caught some of the men at work. They have done an excellent job!
ReplyDeletePhoenix putting a unique twist on siding for a building..love it! This looks like quite an undertaking. I think you did awesome with your shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful (and colorful) collage - great idea and a superb post for the theme!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but think how nice it would be if our society lived up to the slogan at the end of your post.
Aw, Sharon, you are too humble. Your pictures of this construction topic are terrific. (Though I agree with you that the theme was not very inspirational.) I need to figure out how to do collages like this one.
ReplyDeleteThis is great collage of the construction of this building. Clad in copper sounds expensive but looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteA great collage you've treated briliantly.
ReplyDeleteYou left out the most remarkable thing about this building. It is on track to be completed under budget.
ReplyDeleteThis will be a great asset for the busy and overcrowded Superior Court complex in Maricopa County, one of the busiest corut systems in the nation with more than 100 judges.
... rising from the ashes.
ReplyDeleteYou did really well, this is a great collage!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. it will be cool to watch the copper change over the years!
ReplyDeleteGreat theme day image(s) !
ReplyDeletework in progress,i dont know why i dont see your blog updating no more in my draft
ReplyDeleteI did not like this one too. It was hard to come up with something. Mostly because there is not much work being done here. Nice shots.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, now this is what you call construction. Super shots, Sharon.
