Desert Growth
I love the golden glow of this little desert scene. Here we see golden barrel cactus with yellow California poppies in front. The large group of yellow flowers is called many-bristled cinchweed and in back there is some purple lantana.
I got some California Yellow Poppies like you got in front. They came in seed and it took me forever and a day to find them listed somewhere. I used to call them four petal yellow flower.

ReplyDeleteLove the barrel cactus.
Yellow and purple is one of my favorite garden color combinations.
ReplyDeleteThere is a glow coming off this one. Love your cactus shots... so alien in our parts.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that we in Arizona can admire California poppies without driving to California.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! The golden barrel cactus is one of the few in my collection that have never bloom...
ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI like the golden glow too! DBG?
ReplyDeleteWow, that is just so beautiful. I think I am going to have to visit the Botanical Garden when I am in town next weekend.
ReplyDeleteThis is, indeed, a lovely scene. It would make a wonderful painting, too.
ReplyDeleteThe cactus and flowers are just beautiful together.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful cactus flowers.
ReplyDeleteNice cheery, sunny shot!
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty, Sharon. I imagine that this is a common sight for you while it is very exotic for East Coast guys like me.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kathy. Yellow and purple make a beautiful combination.
