Pictures from Phoenix and sometimes from the surrounding cities that make up the "Valley of the Sun"
He was probably hoping to be invisible!
Wonderful find. Thanks Sharon, I now see the cactux prickly in yesterdays pic.
I was watering some plants in our yard in Scottsdale on Sunday and was startled by a colorful lizard that looked just like this guy. The colorful scales on his back are a treat.
I hope he was smaller than he looks in the picture!
The camouflage is very effective for this shy animal.
Wow, I can't believe you spotted him! Nice camouflage!
Wow, did you use your zoom? I hope. :-)
a black collared lizard. they also waddle like an iguana
I'm always a bit spooked when crawly things are above my head. Great shot!
Waiting for an unsuspecting bug to come near, then ZAP, lunch.
Fantastic capture! I wonder how big this wonderful fellow is.
Wow he's a big one! He blends in very well.
I would like to try to stay in his skin, for one day. It will not be much "thinking", I'm afraid.
That looks like one of those deadly Gila Monsters! Yikes! Look at the face. It could be a politician!
He almost blends in to his surroundings.
