Patterns in the Sky

Contrails made some interesting patterns in the sky behind Julie (Scottsdale Daily Photo) and Dave’s (Tamarindo Daily Photo) house last Friday night.

  2. As soon as I saw your photo I recognized it as the amazing sky during our art group get together last Friday, even before I recognized the palm trees and Chilean mesquite tree as the view west from our back yard.

I suspect that the jets who left these contrails were heading towards Luke Air Force Base, which is located about 40 miles west of us. The contrails are converging in that direction.

  6. Ummmm, why don't we both pretend that I said what Birdman said . . . It's not my fault he got here first.

  12. Sometimes these jet streams can ruin a picture. But these jet streams make the picture! Very nice with the palm trees and lighting.

  13. I've never seen so many at one time and in such a dramatic form. From Luke AFB?
