Gorgeous! Judging from the flowers it looks like a close cousin of my Echinopsis: http://mendoncajose1.blogspot.com/2010/05/first-time-this-year-ii.html
My cactus that blooms like this, but with pale pink shading has already been going to town. I had six blooms on it last week. Not nearly as big as a dinner plate though.

You made me want to go out and buy a new cactus, just now. It is pretty with flowers opening up.
Beautiful.
It is remarkable how a small cactus can have such large flowers.
Alas, the flowers last for such a short time, some only a day or two.
Such beautiful blooms on such prickly plants!
I do believe this variety (Sharon, remind me of the name) does only bloom for one day. Did you find this one at DBG?
very lovely. we just had some of these flowers bloom on this type of cactus. you are correct that the flowers are very large
Fleeting beauty!

Mama-cactus can be proud. Beautiful flower. Does it have any aroma?

Such prickly plants have such tender blooms. Amazing to me.
