Navajo Weaver

Meet Nanabah Aragon, a very talented traditional Navajo weaver.  She’s at work on one of her spectacular rugs and was very gracious to allow me to take her photo while she was at work.  She is one of a few weavers that were at the Indian Fair & Market at the Heard Museum.

  4. Nice photo, Sharon. Some of the CDP participants are getting more confidence about asking subjects if it is OK to take their pictures. Glad you did.

  5. These are very sought after rugs and can be quite valuable. I hope that some of the younger generation are learning this art form. This is a nice picture of an artist hard at work.

  6. I have the utmost respect for weavers - their work is so labour intensive! Nice shot of a master at work!

  7. I'm in awe of the skill of these women. We've saw Navajo women weave rugs in northern Arizona years ago. That Indian Fair and Market must have been interesting and a lot of fun!
