When you leave South Mountain Park and head back into the city along the southern stretch of Central Avenue, the downtown high-rise buildings loom ahead of you. I took this shot straight out of the windshield of my car. And yes, I was stopped at a traffic light at the time. I even managed to capture an airliner coming in for a landing. I didn’t see that until I downloaded the photo.
Great perspective from this direction. Much more dramatic than what I usually see, which is from the east. And it's always fun to find the unexpected bonus that you didn't notice while depressing the shutter button.
ReplyDeleteFor people who live in old cities in the East or in Europe might be surprised to see how the streets of PHoenix are so wide. Phoenix is probably uniquely a city that has grown up in the automobile age, as reflected b the fact that it is the lowest density of any major city in the country.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! It is a lovely trip back into town. One of my favorite road views in the city.
ReplyDeleteNice catch!
ReplyDeleteits nice when you find things in the shot that you didn't see when you took it ! nice street view

I just must tell you how beautiful your photos are. We live in Missouri right now, and although it is quite beautiful here, we have made the decision to move to the Phoenix area, not exactly sure where yet. It seems to be taking a long time to sell our place. Looking at your photos of where we will be going has really helped. Thanks a lot.
ReplyDeleteWow they fixed the road! I remember it being a two lane road.
ReplyDeleteGood job. I do this kind of thing all the time...sometimes when not stopped at a light - drives Lois crazy!
