I spotted this pink fire truck parked in the parking lot where I work. It’s part of the “Pink Heals” campaign started by a group of firefighters, police officers, and community leaders to raise awareness and money for the fight against cancer for women. From what I can tell, this truck and others like it around the country travel from community to community for appearances in parades and rallies where cancer awareness and fund raising is happening. Here is a link to their website.
Cute license plate "Pink Ribbon Tour".
I can see Dolly Parton driving this one! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is a worthwhile cause and an attention-getter. I have never seen a pink fire engine before.
ReplyDeleteA fire engine would be recognized as a fire engine no matter what color it is. A pink fire engine would probably attract even more notice than a traditional red one. The question in an emergency is whether it would be as visible to traffic.
This sure is one way to spread the message!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this or seen one of these. I think it's very cool, and I would still move over for it on the road.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun find! I've never, never seen a pink fire truck before you posting!
ReplyDeleteCool truck!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is great! I have never seen it.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a great truck for a good cause. Nice photo Sharon.
ReplyDeletea PINK fire truck! Really!
ReplyDeleteHoorah for these guys!! The Twin Cities just had their 3-day walk for Breast Cancer...all over the news tonight. The walkers as usual have raised millions of dollars for research. Wish our community had this pink fire truck with the campaign you cited.
ReplyDeletewe just got back tonight. Awesome photo!
ReplyDeleteWhat an eye catcher and all for a wonderful cause. My friend in Flagstaff just completed their annual Climb for the Cure up the road to Snow Bowl. Their group was able to raise over $6300!
