I was at my friends Julie and Dave’s (Scottsdale Daily Photo and Tamarindo Cost Rica Daily Photo) house a few days ago and Julie pointed out these peach-faced love birds that have been gathering in a tree just down the street from her house. We did a little stealth photography to see if we could capture these little beauties. Julie has some great shots and maybe she will share some with you one of these days.
The very next day, I saw two of these little cuties in my front yard. There must be quite a group of them roaming the valley.
That's a 'whole lot of love'. ( :
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are for having these colourful beauties around! Aren't they native to Central or/and South America? We have a group of big ones with long tails flying around here, the best place to watch them is at the gardens of the Palace. No idea where they have come from...
ReplyDeleteThey look like tiny parakeets. I wonder if this is what my friend has been seeing when she laughs and says "There's a parrot in my yard". I like the one looking at the camera.
ReplyDeletethese guys are so wonderful but noisy. when you look at them they are so pretty though o the noise is fine.
ReplyDeleteI wish these guys were flying around my yard! They're so cute.
ReplyDeleteThey are very nice birds. I had no idea they were or are wild.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a homemade recipe you would share with our readers? No, you don't have to be fat to share them.

I would like to have this flock in my yard! I have heard that these flocks started with escaped pets and have been thriving well in the warm climate. Great capture!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot Sharon. They are so fun to see in a group like this.
ReplyDeleteNice photo, Sharon! They're pretty cute!
ReplyDeleteWe had a lot of small green parrots in South Florida...they were cute, too, but so very noisy!
They do have a distinctive noise and also a distinctive way of flying. Even when zooming past in flight, you can pick them out due to the pointed shape of their wings in flight.
ReplyDeleteOh, what fun and a special tweet!
