Yesterday’s theme day photo is a bit deceiving since I took it on a bright, sunny Phoenix day. This last weekend was nothing like that. It rained almost the whole weekend. On Sunday, I met friends for lunch in downtown Phoenix so I took the light rail downtown and I learned something. Our light rail stations were not designed to protect you from rain. They provide shade, yes, but rain was
not something the designers were worried about.
I did manage to take a few rain-soaked photos from the window once I was on board.
very interesting observation. I suppose we get so little rain that sunshine was the primary focus to protect pedestrians
ReplyDeleteI read in the Phoenix paper yesterday that Roosevelt Lake is already full and that the remainder of the Salt River lakes upstream from Phoenix are already at 98% of capacity, and the snow melt in the mountains has not even started.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like there will be water releases from the dams and water flowing in the Salt River through Phoenix this Spring.
The other day I also took a train and while I was waiting on the platform the sudden rain was so heavy that it seemed the ceiling would collapse so everyone run into the station building...
ReplyDeleteRain is rare in Az., but we do have an abundance of sunshine. I really didn't notice the cover when I rode the light rail. (of course it wasn't raining)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving our rainy weather. Of course, so are the weeds.
ReplyDeleteBetter than snow and ice!!
ReplyDeleteI remember back when I lived in Phoenix, a rainy day was such a rare and exciting thing. Just the fresh smelling cool air was a treat.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo Sharon! I love rainy days in Phoenix.
