Saturday night I attended an event called “Gourmet Theatre”, an annual fund raising event for Actor’s Theatre in Phoenix. It’s a very unique event where restaurants all over the city prepare a very special dinner for a table of 8. Participants meet at one location for the cocktail hour with some entertainment and a silent auction. Then they learn what restaurant they will be dining at and they head out for a gourmet feast. The restaurant I dined at is Durant’s, a well know, 55-year old landmark in mid-town Phoenix. Above you see the fourth course for this fabulous meal, pepper crusted filet of beef, wilted Swiss Chard, and lobster mashed potatoes topped with cognac cream. It was a delightful meal shared with good friends.
Looks delish! Durant's is a treat I give myself once in a blue moon.
ReplyDeleteI guess you had several types of wines, too, based on all those glasses!
ReplyDeleteGood food with good friends...sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good event. Durants is a traditional place for a business lunch.
ReplyDeleteSomeone get me a napkin...I'm drooling. Looks scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteThat looks really yummy!
ReplyDeleteOoh, Durant's! I ate there once. Yum-O! With my luck I would probably end up in a sushi place. :-)
ReplyDeleteDid you get to order what you wanted from the menu? I know this had to be a wonderful evening.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun event, and the food looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteSounds like great fun. And the food looks good, too. I do remember the name, Durants, but never ate there - we were young and poor!
ReplyDeleteI always love Durant's!!! yummy!
