Tequila

Sunday night I had dinner with two great friends, one of whom was visiting from Denver. We went to Barrio Cafe, a wonderful place to get authentic southern Mexican cuisine in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Two hour waits for tables is not unusual at this very popular establishment, but we were lucky. In spite of the crowded dining room, we got a table right away. In addition to the fabulous food, the restaurant also boasts the largest assortment of tequila in the Phoenix area. The photo above only shows a few of the bottles. The shelves actually wrap around to another wall.

Check out their web site. You might even find some photos of some of the delicious choices we made like enchiladas mole and churros and flan for dessert. Great company and fantastic food, what could be better?

  1. What a gorgeous collection of bottles - and tequila! I love this photo, Sharon. Thanks for blog birthday wishes.

  2. You had me fooled - I thought it was going to be a picture of the agave plant from which tequila is made. Great shot. Thanks for the link.

  3. Great photo to show the variety. I went to a tequila factory in Mexico. Doesn't take much to be totally obliterated. Young people on the tour got completely hammered. The bus driver was very concerned about the attention the young men were paying to the very drunk women so some of us made sure that they got home all right. Wicked stuff!

  4. A wonderful restaurant indeed. Do they still mix the guacamole at your table?

  7. I am fascinated by the contrasts of reflected light and darkness, all of which is in a display of vivid colours. It often takes courage to shoot inside, especially with an SLR, but the results are so often rewarding.

  9. All of those are tequila bottles? Good grief! We did have some frozen margaritas last night that were pretty darn good.
