Beware of thorns
Birds like to eat the fruit that grows on the top of some cactus, but they have to be very careful of the thorns that are longer than they are wide. I've watched them and they make it look easy.
This is a Curved Bill Thrasher and he is such a clown in the yard. I don't understand how they work their way around the thorns either. Another great shot!
Clever birds
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific composition this is. Both you and the bird make it look effortless.
ReplyDeleteIt's an arresting photo; I'm surprised at the agility of these small birds. Great capture.

ReplyDeleteThose long thorns look like they could be leathal to a bird that wasn't careful enough! OUCH!
ReplyDeleteI had to look twice to see the bird. He looks very busy.
ReplyDeleteI love this one! Great composition!
ReplyDeleteClever that the birds figured out how to not get stabbed by the cacti.
