Watercarrier

Time for another Allan Houser sculpture from the exhibit at the Desert Botanical Garden. This one is called "Watercarrier".

  1. Water carriers are important in the desert.

I think it was General Sherman, who led an expedition across the Arizona desert after the Civil War, and reported back to Washington something to the effect that traveling in Arizona means that you are 6 miles from the nearest water, 4 miles from the nearest shade, and 4 feet from Hell.

  2. Another nice sculpture in a serene setting. Queen Creek Daily Photo has this same sculpture on her blog today. It was posted yesterday and her photo was at night.
