Low to the ground

I mentioned on Friday that there were a lot of birds and desert creatures out and about last Sunday at the Desert Botanical Gardens. This black and white snake was slithering about on one of the pathways. He didn’t move very fast on the pavement, but the minute he hit the dirt he took off in a flash.

  1. Maybe the snack slithers slowly over the sidewalk because the pavement is rough on his belly.

The Desert Botanical Garden is a haven for some animals, but they have a rabbit fence around the entire property to try to keep out the rabbits, who would have a feast on the plants, although we have seen a few rabbits inside.

  5. He is a beauty. I looked up snakes of Arizona, you sure have quite a few. Over here in England they really are not common.
I may be wrong but this looks like a Common Kingsnake.
