Ghost of Lady Liberty

While I was out doing some night photography I decided to stop and take a photo of this large Statue of Liberty that has been in the front yard of a home along 7th Avenue for many years. It’s silver color and a low light exposure makes it look ghostly.

  1. I have driven by this statue hundreds of times during the day, as it is hard to miss standing in the front yard of a house, but I do not recall seeing it at night. Your photo shows it at its best.

  2. Love your photo of it!
Is that a lamp she's holding up?

  3. Hilda, yes it is a lamp. It used to light up at night but I've noticed lately that it hasn't been working.

  6. This is also a nice shot for the August "night" theme. By the way, I also love your neighborhood/home images -- really gives a good feel for the what it looks like to live in Phoenix. I've only seen the parts of the city I can spy from the freeways to and from the airport (on my way out of town (up north) - or on the way back.)

  7. What a beautiful shot. I love the lighting and shadows. Interesting to have in a front yard! I was recently in Phoenix with my son visiting friends and family and ASU. Nice place even though it was hot!
