Encanto-Palmcroft
The Encanto Palmcroft area is one of my favorites. There are so many beautiful homes in this area that I found it very hard to choose just one or even two. This stately Spanish style home is one I truly admire.
The small photo shows another home in the area that I find interesting. I love the terra cotta cornices along the roof line on the left of the photo. Click on it to enlarge and get a better view.
This is a beautiful home. Wasn't there a park and swimming pool called Encanto Park...seems to me I remember diving from a high board there many years ago...MANY years ago!
Thank you, Sharon...sometimes with the passage of years, I cannot recall exact details...and I'm talking now about the early 50s...
But I do remember the pool and how much fun we had there! I also remember trying a double flip off that high diving board, and landing flat out on my stomach as well as the pain and the redness that lasted for a couple of days!
Funny, how a photo or name can trigger something one hasn't thought of for years!
Enjoying the pictures of the older neighborhoods. When I first moved to Phoenix I lived inthe Portland and Central area.
ReplyDeleteThe 1st house is absolutely lovely and the terracotta corniches on the 2nd are truly interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe first house is quite grand. I like them both too. The different styles are interesting.
ReplyDeleteVwry grand houses

ReplyDeleteJacob, yes, this area is adjacent to Encanto Park which has a pool, a golf course, tennis courts, and a little "kiddie-land" called Enchanted Island.
