Corn stalks and palm trees aren’t usually located in close proximity, but here you see a row of corn and a palm tree at the end. I spotted this corn field in south Phoenix and had to stop to take a picture. Corn is not a crop you would expect to see growing in any part of Arizona. The climate is much too hot and dry. In spite of the adverse conditions, these plants look healthy and hearty.
Do you know if they irrigate?
ReplyDeleteMemphis: Yes they definitely irrigate.
ReplyDeleteThose plants are really packed in there!
ReplyDeleteYoungs Farm had lots of corn. We used to go and get corn there every summer and it was so great. It was picked that morning so it was always fresh and full of moisture. Miss it. I wonder if the place in your picture sells fresh picked corn there. If so, you should get some.
ReplyDeleteThey say get the water boiling. Then pick your corn and run to your stove. (i.e The sooner you cook it the better it tastes.)
ReplyDeleteHow funny! I've just visited M_M's blog and they also have a cornfield on today's post. But there is a big difference, there is snow in the mountains of Poland! :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like harvest might be soon.
