There is a little hill at the Desert Botanical Gardens where you get a fantastic view of Camelback Mountain.
Camelback Mountain gets its name from its shape. It looks like a reclining camel, his head to the left and his two humps in the middle.
If you look to the left where the camel’s eye would be, you will see a little dark slit, almost like a sleepy half closed eye. That is the Copenhaver Castle that I featured last year. Click

Sharon,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great coincidence. On Julie's Scottsdale Daily Photo site today, she has a photo from the Phoenician Resort at the base of Camelback Mountain looking towards the Papago Buttes next to the Desert Botanical Garden. Your photo today is of the reverse view, looking from Papago Park towards Camelback.
The Phoenecian Resort where Julie's photo is taken from would be at the lower right of Camelback, behind the bushes in your photo.
Isn't there a mountain named that near or around Tucson? I remember that name but can't remember where the mountain is.

I am thankful to you for introducing this nice place...
ReplyDeleteGreat view! Cacti really fit there!
ReplyDeleteNice shot, Sharon. We used to climb that back in the early 60's when we lived in Scottsdale; with Lois Anne's grandmother, who was then in her late 60s!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful landscape. Thanks for posting!
