Today I bring you a rather unusual home perched on the side of Camelback Mountain. This is the kind of house that I would normally associate with Los Angeles, maybe on the slopes of the Hollywood Hills? It stands out among the low-slung ranch homes around it. I like to imagine who lives in it and what the inside must look like. I imagine the views are amazing, the furniture is ultra-modern, and the décor is minimalist.
And Camelback Mountain is such a nice address!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a house that looked quite like that one before.
ReplyDeleteI can't even figure out HOW that is a house.
ReplyDeleteI usually see the mtn and not the homes. That's a pretty cool one, but I'm glad there's a limit on how high up they go.
ReplyDeleteSharon, You asked me if I ran the Ironman. I ran in the 5k race on Saturday and it was a Personal Record (PR) for me. I'd love to do an Ironman some day. 140.6 miles is a long way to go for one race. I watched the last 3 hours at the finish line until midnight and it was truly amazing.
I'm with you on your imagining of its interior.
ReplyDeleteI find these ultra modern homes interesting, but I think I prefer that they blend with their environment especially in such scenic places.
I don't know if I've seen this house in architectural books or a house like it but it's looks familiar.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely correct: it is a most unusual home. When a child we would try to imagine the lives of people based upon the laundry hanging on their clotheslines. It's far more fun to imagine the lives of the owners of this home. Too bad that they don't stay home more often to enjoy the view since they're jetting off to one place or another!
ReplyDeleteWhat an AMAZING architecture! I love it! You must be right, minimalism is the only style that fits the house.
ReplyDeleteRemonds me of one of the places you might see on one of my favourite TV shows - a British programme called Grand Designs.
ReplyDeleteIt's very strange looking! I think I prefer more traditional looking homes!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's the weirdest house I've ever seen, right up there with the Lady who lived in a Boot!!!
ReplyDeleteI live in the house next door (the white one with the bball court). The couple that lived there (the Yoders) had it featured in lots of magazines years ago. It is actually pretty cool but small square footage wise in comparison to other houses. The husband was a holocaust survivor who passed away a while ago and his wife lives most of the year out of state. The family takes good care of it, sending a caretaker over to upkeep the pool and cleaning the glass and statues. It is definitely a landmark home on the mountain.
