Summer Solstice

I raided the archives to find this sunset photo to post today since today is the longest day of the year.  Here in Arizona we will get a little over 14 hours of sunshine.  For those of you further north, you will be getting almost 2 hours more sunshine than we get. I'm sure there will be solstice celebrations all over the world.  I know there will be a big one at Stonehenge.

Beautiful photo! Here in Ohio we have a cloudy day so no beautiful sunrise or sunset. A hour away from me is the Serpent Mound, built by the Adena, thousands of years ago. Its head and tail align with the summer solstice sunrise and sunset. It's Ohio's version of Stonehenge.

Great shot, Sharon. I love these long days of summer.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten it's the solstice! The time of year when I most need blackout curtains!

I could do with less here, it’s probably hotter than where you live
