Sunflowers, Large and Small

I see lots of these small sunflowers growing at the Desert Botanical Garden.  They tend to be scattered among the wildflowers.

In the Phoenix area, we see more of these small ones than any other kind.

However, every now and then I'll see one of these jumbo sized sunflowers.  I saw this one at a local plant nursery.  No matter what size they are, they always catch my eye.  They make a good photography subject.

  4. I love them but the squirrels have also loved them any time I have tried to grow them, Sharon.
I'm getting frustrated with blogger not showing posts until the next day or at least many hours after the post has gone up. It is taking the fun out of things.

  5. Sunflowers are one of my favorites! Your last photo with the sun illuminating the flower from behind is beautiful.

  7. Regardless of size, they are beautiful! I see the small ones in my local hills in Orange County. Sometimes out at the desert too, but not as often.
