My car was parked in a parking lot that happened to be across the street from St. Joseph's Hospital when I heard the roar of helicopter blades revving up. I looked over in time to see one lifting off from the helipad on the Hospital's roof.
I took three photos in rapid succession and caught it on it's way.
It reminded me of the time I spent one night in a hospital for some tests and my room overlooked the heliport on that hospital. It was a good thing I was only there for one night. The roar of a helicopter right out your window is pretty loud.

They are extremely loud aren't they Sharon? When there's bush fires near me the helicopters get the water they drop on the flames refilled at the oval not far from my back fence. They are so incredibly loud as they fly low over my cottage ready for landing.

ReplyDeleteEveryone should ride in one, when it is not an emergency.
ReplyDeleteWe often have them fly over us on their way to the downtown airport and sometimes it sounds like they are coming through the roof. They are good to have around in an emergency though.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine what it must be like to have them landing outside your hospital room! Not very conducive to healing!
ReplyDeleteWe can hear them as they get nearer to our area but I can't imagine hearing them outside your window.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking this one is very busy, I've been helicopters here constantly on the go at hospitals.
