Hotel Embraces Art

A new hotel opened up last fall in the Roosevelt Row Arts District and the hotel itself has embraced the artistic community in full force.  It was this five-story mural on the outside that caught my eye but I've since learned that the inside is full of murals and paintings all by local artists.

The mural on the outside is by Heather Freitas, a local artist.  It looks like her work has mostly been on canvas but this mural fits her style beautifully.

Looks amazing Sharon. More hotels are doing this now, we have one here called The Adnate after the artist Matt Adnate. You will have to nip inside to see the foyer art ✨

Quite an interesting style. With that name I thought she must be Portuguese, just read her bio and her paternal family is from the Azores (Portuguese islands).
Thanks for contributing Sharon.

I like her style a lot, Sharon! A visit to the hotel is in order when things go back to 'normal'?

What an interesting place!

More advice if you do take a road trip. We found the some of the fast food places we usually relied on...to use their facilities were closed to indoor dining. Therefore the lines at the service station restrooms were daunting. Our remedy was to stop at Walmart. There is usually one in every town and most are on the highway. Gave us a chance to stretch our legs and of course we usually came away with a purchase...

Sorry to be off subject on your post! Janey

Beautiful! I love how many murals your town has. It's great that people are so into decorating buildings these days.

I finally got back online late last night and am now playing catch-up. What a wonderful mural. It certainly stands out tall and center above the crowd.
