Alien Invasion?
It looks like a flying saucer has landed along Camelback Road on the border between Phoenix and Scottsdale. But, I think it's pretty safe because it's been sitting there from many years now.
This structure is part of the campus of a church. It's the Camelback Seventh-Day Adventist Church to be exact. I pass by it when traveling to Scottsdale and I finally decided to stop and snap a few photos.
I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today. Where do you get the best ice cream in Paris?

That has to be the strangest looking church building I've ever seen. It certainly does give credence to the fact that aliens have landed and made Phoenix their home!
So unusual but somehow I thought it was a church, Sharon!
I've answered your Paris question on your other blog! This structure actually fits in quite well with the desert!
It is certainly a strange church.
Greetings,
Filip
That would be a good building for tornado country. There is a house that looks something like that in Mayer.
I agree with Kate, this 'flying saucer' fits in perfectly on the Arizona landscape Sharon :) would be so cool to see inside.. hopefully it really is a church and not just a front for an alien species plotting to take over the world :) although why they'd want to take it over right now I can't imagine :)
Perhaps it suffered a crash landing. But shading all the windows is a good design idea for your area.
It brings to mind Bob Hope's house in Palm Springs -- also very "space alien." (But bigger!)
A very weird design for church use, and yet it seems to suit the desert environment.
Right title for this, Sharon :)
