Yesterday I said I'd show you the most common yard ornamentation I see in the Paradise Valley area. It has to be the proud lion. I see lions perched in a variety of places in front of many homes in Paradise Valley.
This one is sitting tall and proud like a soldier on duty.
This one is sitting atop a fence in a more relaxed position but still alert and watching what is going on in front of him.
This one is looking very fierce with his paw on an orb and a little growl on his face.
Even though they are outnumbered by lions, a horse or two also shows up in this area too.

These are very nice and I'm not lion! Lions are a favorite around here, too, but ours are not quite so substantial as these are. I think we've got you beat in the horse sculpture department, though! :)
Have a great weekend, Sharon!
Ah, yes! I should have known it would be a lion. There are many homes here, too, who have made a grandiose gesture by adding lions to their doorsteps. Two of these lions live next door to us, which always make me smile, esp when I secretly in the dead of night decorate them on holidays
Well! That was unexpected Sharon, I would never have thought lions, I was leaning towards the phoenixes😃
P.s. I fractured and tore some ligaments in my knee a while back without realising I had and over the last six months all my gallivanting around hasn't helped. I'm still hoping surgery won't be needed, the problem being my inability to rest long enough for it to heal 😃
Lovely sculptures! One does find lions here and there.
I didn't think it would be lions! I really like the horse statue!
Excelente trabalho e belas fotografias.
Um abraço e bom fim de semana.

I never thought of lions either but you do see them around a lot here too!
I suppose they're better than garden gnomes.
The third one is very Venetian. With the week you're having you'd think someone would at least give the poor creatures an umbrella.
We have tons of lions here too. What's the significance of having a lion at your door, I wonder? Where does that come from?
Beautiful statues, Sharon, especially the first one !
We have also lions here around, I don't know why...
I could probably find quite a few lions but horses are harder to find. The third lion has great hair. Maybe that is why a bunch of lions is called a pride.
