Last Friday was the first Friday of the month so after the Kids in Focus exhibit, I headed to a few galleries to see what I could see.
This one seemed to have a large array of very eclectic "pinatas" hanging from the rafters.
The show was called "Mutant PiƱata" Indeed!
Another gallery has some interesting artwork all by the same artist, all very different. There were paintings and the sculpture with the butterflies and some hand made guitars. The artist is Rafael Navarro, a multitalented and creative man.
The body of the guitar mimics the body of a woman.
It was an interesting way to round out the evening.

These are interesting pieces. You have a wonderful collection of galleries to visit in Phoenix.
I don't think that you can go wrong with a visit to a gallery Sharon, just seeing the art and trying to understand what the motivation was for some of the pieces can be very enjoyable :)
Quite interesting and really funny, but...
I like the guitar, is she playable or just an artistic ornament ?
Boy, give a kid a bat and he'd have a blast with all those pinatas! Love that guitar, too. "There is nothing like a dame!" Well, if it was true in South Pacific, it's probably still true now.
A vibrant exhibit!
Festive, colorful pinatas always bring a smile!
That guitar is quite a stand out!
The pinatas must have been fun to make, Sharon! I like the other show too.
I'm surprising myself by liking this. The guitar is pretty creative!
I like the Navarro work. And no, not just the guitar! ;=/
What fun to have so many galleries to visit.
