Christmas in glass
Saturday night I attended another "Pink Martini" concert at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts along with my good friend David, Julie and Dave, and Julie's mother Glenda. David and I had dinner first at AZ 88 a restaurant I've featured here before. It's the place that always has ever changing eclectic decor. This years Christmas tree at AZ 88 is made of glass with colored lights inside and as they twinkle it creates light patterns all over the walls and ceiling. You can see some of them in this iPhone shot.
Pink Martini put on a fabulous show with (for the first time) both female singers, China Forbes and Storm Large singing together. I'll be playing their music for the rest of the month. Oh what am I saying, just ask my friends. They'll tell you I play their music all the time.

That's a very cosy looking place to meet!
The Christmas tree is so shiny, no need of candles.
Sounds fun! I gotta check out this Pink Martini. If you like Kate Bush I trust your musical instincts. :)
(And yes, "Lionheart" is also a great Kate Bush album! I also love "Never For Ever" and "The Dreaming." "The Sensual World" has its moments. I don't have any of the others.)
I think I've become musically illiterate...I don't know from Pink Martini or China Forbe or Storm Large...maybe I'll do some searching on the Internet.
The restaurant looks quite cozy and elegant and the tree is spectacular! Very unusual, too.
Glad you had a good time.
It would be cool to see that tree in person!
betty
Sounds like a lovely evening Sharon and I bet when you met up with Dave and Julie the evening went from excellent to even more so :)
I recall that you mentioned Pink Martini on a previous post, I googled and listened to them and liked the music. Think I'll go out today to buy a CD of theirs as a pre-holiday gift to myself,
Quite a nice and original Christmas tree! You spent an awesome evening by what I read here.
That's quite a different Christmas tree!
I've seen Pink Martini in concert. They are quite an act!
Pink Martini, lucky you, and for enjoying such a cosy atmosphere! The tree is pretty cool, I like it!
I saw some made of empty green plastic bottles outside a bakery on Saturday but wasn't happy with my pics so I deleted them...
That's a very cool tree, Sharon! I must be out of the music loop - haven't heard of any of these people. Will have to do a You-tube search.
You find glass everywhere you go it seems. Nice centerpiece.
A very unique tree! I like the effects of the light.
Saw them hear in February, always fun. There Christmas CD is wonderful.
Back again! I bought a used CD, "Hey Eugene!" Any other titles you would recommend? I like the latin beat on this one!
I like that glass tree. Sounds like a nice evening.
That is a cool Christmas tree!
This is quite a classy modern tree. I am a traditionalist when it comes to trees, but I do admire this one.
