The Yearlings
The Yearlings is a well known and loved sculpture in Scottsdale. It sits at the entrance to the Scottsdale Civic Plaza and on the edge of "old town" Scottsdale, an area of high tourist volume. I almost always see someone posing for a photo by it whenever I'm there. The sculptor was George-Ann Tognoni, a life long lover of horses who has a few equine sculpture around Scottsdale. She passed away in 2008 at the age of 88 but, has surely left a beautiful legacy to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Strong sculpture here. Legacy for sure.
Beauty in motion!
I love this sculpture!
Nice -- although the word "yearling" always makes me think of deer, after the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings book. :)
It is a gorgeous sculpture, Sharon.
I think I have seen these horses before, either on your or Julie's blog. Wouldn't we all like to leave behind something beautiful with the impact and attention that these flowing horses command?
Such a dynamic piece!
Our local, (Buffalo, NY), PBS station had a special on Chihuly's outdoor work last night and I though of you and the wonderful shots you have shown us of his work.
This is magnificent!
Powerful artwork.
She has created a real sense of movement, looks very exhilarating!
It's a remarkable sculpture and a outstanding legacy of a talented person.
I agree with Grace, wonderful sense of movement!
