There have been times when I've patiently waited to take a shot of a hummingbird at work and still never had any luck with the shot. For this one, I just saw him out of the corner of my eye and swung around and took the shot never imaging that it would be any good. Not too bad for a shot on the run.

Oh wow well done. Beautiful capture at the right moment
Luck maybe. The skill comes in when you have your camera's settings ready to go. That includes having the lens cap off.
Amazing, fantastic shot!
Great shot. It was worth the wait.
It worked out so well, Sharon!
Terrific! The best photos are about 80 percent luck, I think.
Very Good! Those little jewels are fast and it's hard to get one like this.
That's a spectacular take, Sharon! A beautiful hummer!
If you didn't say it was a shot on the run I would believe you were patiently waiting for something to happen there. Gorgeous!
Wow, I would say that was pretty amazing!
Not totally lucky. . .you were on the ready!
Hey! You nailed it! Good work, Sharon.
Don't you just love when that happens, nice one Sharon, gorgeous capture.
p.s. you should definitely put a birdbath in the garden, honestly you will get so much pleasure watching the birds enjoy it, especially on hot days.
Oh, this is wonderful !
