The 24th Annual Heard Museum World Championship Hoop Dance Contest is going on this weekend at the Heard Museum. I stopped by on Saturday to take a look at the colorful costumes as well as the talented contestants.
Beautifully dressed women competed……
……as well as men in several age groups.
And the little ones also got to compete. This young boy is waiting his turn.
And, if contestants or visitors were hungry, there was a group selling delicious Indian Fry Bread for lunch!
Once again, I enjoyed this colorful event.

Lots to see, do and taste!
I would love this! So colorful and lots of action. A few years back it seemed the hula hoop was becoming popular again. I tried it. Hah! Those things are impossible!
I could see the crowds and hear the drums while looking down from my office on the 23rd floor of our building a few blocks away. Sadly, I had to work all day yesterday.
A photographers delight! Beautiful pictures and now my mouth is watering for some fry bread.
Pass the Frybread! I love this event and that first shot.
I wish I would have been there. The entire event looked like fun.
Surely a beautiful event, Sharon!
I like the top shot, great detail!
What a colourful event! And the Fry bread looks great, Sharon.
A good friend had a bulldog who lived to be a ripe old age and we all loved him and since then I have always had a tender spot for them too. You would love Willy.
I've seen this done once. It's remarkable to watch!
Oh, Sharon, this looks like so much fun. I'm jealous.
Incredible and beautiful, how I wish I could've been there in person!
Such fab colour at events like this Sharon, love the portrait if the little boy patiently waiting his turn :)
A colorful way to spend the day.
Their wearing apparel is colorful and spectacular. Great portrait of the child. Fry bread! Reminds me that I need to go out to get some sopapilla VERY soon, a little lighter than fry bread but both are so very tasty!!
