My sister commented yesterday that she was wondering what the outside of the Taco Guild looked like. I'm not sure why I didn't think to take a photo from the outside. It was the former Bethel Methodist Church and school and it was painted yellow when it was a church. It is considered a historic building since it was built in 1893.

Very impressive. Nice of your sis to get you thinking. :)
It's looking very grand, especially considering it's well over a hundred years old!
If I hadn't seen the sign, I never would have guess that this is a Taco restaurant.
This is a very impressive building in view of the fact that it was build only about 25 years after Phoenix began to grow as an agricultural town.
I bet there are not many buildings in Phoenix as old as this that are as large as this.
I've seen a few Bethel Methodist Churches here closed & sold off. It is a nice looking building
Ha, we turn churches into fitness centres, you make them restaurants, I wonder what that means?
The building as a restaurant seems a bit startling, esp with the cross on the bell tower. I wonder what strangers to the area think of it?
Would not expect to find tacos in there.
I love the unexpected look of the place. A very cool remodeling!
Ah! Glad you got a picture of it. It still looks like a church, except for the sign on the steeple. An interesting reuse of the building.
I think this colour probably works better than yellow, Sharon. I like the look of it.
I would make me go inside if I was driving by that's for sure!
Ha, from the outside I would not say this is a restaurant :-)
Thanks for the hint.
An iconic structure. Glad that it's preserved, even if only to push tacos. They left the cross, I see. Meaning? Their tacos save? :)
Re your comment today on Ocala: Fantastic!
It looks so different now.
It sure does seem odd seeing a "Taco Guild" sign up there on the steeple.
I was wondering what the interior would look like and then I saw the previous post. :-)
Now that's a different use for a former church. It looks very distinctive.
