I went to the garden last week in the late afternoon so that I could see how afternoon light looked on all of the glass pieces. I was surprised to find a display I hadn't seen before. This one is called Jade and Crimson Thorns and I have to say I like it very much. It seems to fit in with the desert quite well.
As you can see from this shot, it really does have thorns on it.

The colours look very vivid in the afternoon light.
Thanks for the close-up; it clearly defines the work and thorns. Recalling the work of glass blowers, i cannot imagine how those thorns were formed. Requires real talent!
I'm very impressed by these, they certainly have the feel of the desert.
You caught these at a time of wonderful lighting.
Beautiful even down to the thorny detail, I'd love to have seen these while wandering through desert!
I don't think you'd want to use one of these beauties as a walking stick. They remind me of dried up corn stalks! Well, these are much prettier!
They look right at home there.
He has good people blowing for him, that's for sure!
Beautiful sculptures. I love that shade of green.
The jade color is quite different from other things I have seen by Chihuly's studio. It is probably not my favorite installation . . .
Another wonderful piece.
Pretty:)
Tres imaginative sculpture Sharon, it fits perfectly into its surroundings.
What a spectacular piece!
Fabulous! I especially like the more detailed shot.
