I bought a bouquet of flowers last Sunday and by Tuesday, two of the flowers were drooping. The flowers must have been in the store longer than some I've bought before. Since a drooping flower is what I had to work with, I photographed it anyway and I kind of like it. It looks like a ballet skirt or, I guess I should say, a tutu.

superbe photo !
All you need is a fairy & pixy hiding under it now
I wish I looked as good as this flower when I droop. :-)
Another beauty
Reminds me of an old-fashioned lamp. If one looks, there is beauty everywhere!
It looks like the way I feel at times when returning from a long trip, as we have recently done. Happy, but drooping.
It reminds me of a twirling hula skirt too, a bright one! Very pretty in its droop (I really shouldn't have watched the Downton Xmas special in England - it was chock full of spoilers for the season being broadcast here:)
And here I thought it was an umbrella for fairies! It's beautiful even if it is droopy.
Haha, tutu, awesome. Suits the Firebird production perfectly (:

Cut flowers do seem to droop rather quickly. I think it looks like a fancy hanging lamp shade.
It makes for an unusual, colourful image!
Brilliant photo of this nice tutu ;-)
A good photographer makes do with what he/she has - just like this. I think you ought to put this on your head, walk down the street, and see what kind of reactions you get. :) Or not.
Sometimes if you cut the stem they will come back but I have noticed that most Gerbera stems have wire wrapped around them to keep this from happening! You made good use of it - great image, Sharon.
Still beautiful.
I was going to say what RedPat said -- a lot of times Gerbera stems have added support, like a plastic sheath or a wire, to keep them upright. I like the image regardless. :)
Aloha! A Hawaiian hula skirt :)
Even faded, the colours are lovely.
Fantastic! What a great contrast to the background.
