Sleepy Owl
About mid-week we started getting much cooler mornings so I took advantage of that today and went to the Botanical Garden for a walk. I met a gentleman whom I see taking pictures there all the time and we walked together. He has an amazing knowledge of all the wildlife at the garden and he showed me a spot where these owls hang out. It's away from where there is heavy traffic on the paths so that they can sleep and rest up for a night of hunting. This guy was not interested in a portrait. He just kept on snoozing as we snapped away.

Lucky you. I'm still wait to get my first shot of a wild owl.
Wow.. You'll have to tell us of this secret spot. ONce while at an evening concert at the Desert Botanical Garden I saw an owl land on a cactus up the hill from the concert area in the back, but it was too far a away for a photo.
I was at the Garden at night a couple of weeks ago and saw some field mice out at night. Must be good hinting grounds for the owls.
You got a good shot of this elusive bird. Looks like me before my coffee.
Fantastic shot, he looks very relaxed!
Wow. Great capture. Love the face expression.

Boring, photographers are not on my menu...
Great capture, Sharon!
Even though I live in the country I have never seen an owl. And you are lucky enough to see one in Phoenix!
Excellent, Sharon. Several of your viewers mention that they have not seen owls. I run into them occasionally in Florida. I will have to look hard once I get down there for the season.
Wow, that is one lucky catch.
How lucky you were to have met this gentleman. This is an excellent capture!
The owl looks tired. Majestic bird.
Greetings,
Filip
So great to be able to speak to someone who is able to add informations about the life in the garden.
I think I can visualize the place near the little "beans/sunflowers garden" near the running path behind the fence... :-)
The wise old owl looks like he needs some shut eye.
