On my way home from the trip to Prescott on Saturday and a little bit after I had passed that torrential downpour, I stopped at a rest area called Sunset Point on I-17. I stopped specifically to snap a few pictures of the swirling clouds. I love the way the sun is breaking through those thick clouds and creating streaks of light. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that some of these rain-laden clouds will make their way to central Phoenix.

Nice capture of the light beams shining through the clouds. Good luck with the rain. ☂☂
Wow! Even if you don't get the rain, that awesome shot of those marvellous clouds should b some consolation!!!
Heavenly, amazing shot!
Those clouds remind me of pieces of mercury...did you ever play with that stuff from broken thermometers. Not a good idea but back then who knew?
I wish you much good rain!
That is a dramatic sky indeed.
Really fantastic shot!
Those clouds are almost biblical Sharon. The light looks wonderful shining through onto the mountains, beautiful capture.
Ah, yes! The thunder rumbled the rest of the day and well into the evening. We did end up getting some rain but nothing like we had at lunch and like you had on your way home.
Dramatic sky, time to go home!
Beautiful! I love the way light always changes on mountains.
very dramatic shot, Sharon!
In Quebec it's called Ciel de Jesu.
I hope your loved Phoenix is cooling down and you are getting some much needed rains. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
Gosh, Sharon, those clouds are amazing. Yes, I hope you get some rain in Phoenix, too.
Nice shot! I love Sunset Point. Sometimes I would use it as a quick getaway from the city.
