This southwestern style house was hidden behind a wall of shrubs along a road in the town of Carefree. I actually couldn't get a full view of the house but there was a break in the trees big enough for me to get a shot of this entrance. It appears to have a perfect style for a desert retreat.

Wow! Somehow it isn't very welcoming. :D Actually it looks menacing. Great find.

Usually the old cow skull is on the ground rather than above a doorway. Julie's is inside.
How I would love to retreat in that casa.
All that thick stucco and brush and trees should help keep it cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Interesting place for sure. Those doors must lead to some kind of courtyard. Maybe they keep dead cattle in there. I mean look at the welcoming skull!
Thanks for your comment on Ocala. I need all the help I can get and I know that you are very perceptive! :)
Great looking entrance.
Oh, really hidden!
But, maybe only from this perspective, or not?
I like the entrance. It is somewhat mysterious.
I like it a lot. It is sooo different from what you see up here.
A home of illicit affairs, perhaps?
Sharon, does your house have a cow skull above the door? I associate that with Santa Fe and O'Keeffe.
Beautiful looking home.
A perfect little hideaway!
I agree with you, it's a perfect style for a desert retreat and I love it!
I love it Sharon, so discreet and soooo Arizona, very nice capture.
