Paolo Soleri, 1919-2013

I thought I'd post one more photo from Cosanti, the Paolo Soleri studio and home in Paradise Valley that I featured back in February.  This one is to honor Paolo Soleri who passed away on Tuesday at his home in Paradise Valley at age 93.  This photo is of one of his famous wind chimes.  The New York times paid him tribute in this article.  He may be gone now but his influence will live on.

His influence and works will indeed live on. A very warm looking picture!

When we visited Cosanti about a year or so ago, we saw him tending to his garden.

In the newspaper yesterday he was described as a Leonardo da Vinci of architecture and urban planning.

It's quite beautiful and certainly would be a wonderful addition to any Arizona home. Blends right in with the desert colors.

I was so looking forward to coming to Phoenix next month for the APGA conference. Due to a miscommunication and my lack of $1500.00 exhibitor fee...I just can not justify this extra expense ...I would have to sell a whole lot of ART to make this work for me. Maybe someday...sooner than later. Thank you for sharing your beautiful countryside / city with me. I do hope we will get to meet in the future. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Mary, so sorry to hear that you aren't going to be able to come.

You honored him nicely with your previous photos from Cosanti. Doesn't this wind chime remind you a bit of Kokopelli?
