Rainy Day in Phoenix

It rained all day Saturday in Phoenix.  It's a rare event that most desert dwellers enjoy.  I went for a long drive around town to see what rainy sights I could see.  This one shows a golf course with some hardy players out there in the rain.  In the background you can see the downtown skyline barely visible through the rain.

I can't imagine playing golf in a steady rain such as yesterday. At least it was near 60 degrees. I guess that means that just like we have a dry heat, we have a warm rain.

It does seem unusual to see so much rain in Phoenix, still it will no doubt be welcomed by the grass and trees in your photo!

Playin' in a light drizzle and fog has its allure.

Great pictures, and those beautiful cars. That Corvette really is the business. Rain for a day......you should be thankful you dont live in Wales...it's not the Green green grass of home for nothing.

I heard about your rain. Everyone I talked to was loving it.

I can remember one year while living in Phoenix and my daughter was still in elementary school I asked her what she wanted for her birthday. Her answer: A rainy day. They are certainly precious in the desert.

Great shot! Some golfers are nuts. I won't name any names, though. I do remember those wonderful rainy days. As I recall, back in 1951-52, average rainfall in Phoenix was 7 inches a year. Not enough to keep an old hen wet!

Great shot Sharon! I would be inside somewhere warm and dry!

In the part of Florida where I live in the winter, no one plays golf on rainy days. Why would they, when most days are gorgeous?

Looks fantastic Sharon, I bet it smells good too. The smell when it rains after a long dry spell is wonderful don't you think!

We've had enough of this! :-) It's a cool shot though.
