My close friend David had VIP tickets for Thursday at the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction that has been going on in Scottsdale all this week. I was the lucky one that got to go with him. Wow, what an experience. The auction has been going on in Scottsdale for years but, this is the first time I got to experience it and I must say, I was impressed. First of all, it's huge! Second, the numbers of people attending are astronomical. We were told that on Friday and Saturday the crowds would exceed 200,000.
I took a lot of pictures and I won't bore you with all of them but, I will show you a few of my favorites starting with the original BATMOBILE that was used for the old TV series from the 1960's.
Check out the Bat-phone inside the car!
Here we have a front view! Isn't that fun?

Now that is THE Batmobile, I remember having a toy version of this very model!
Wow what can you say.
That's quite a car! Imagine how heads would turn if you tooled around in it.
I look forward to the rest of your photos from the Barrett-Jackson. Julie and I have talked about going, but have never done so.
That would be fun, except for the 200,000 people. Was this car going up for sale? I wonder how much it would go for.
Wow what a car. Would love to attend this even though I'm not a real car buff.
How very cool! I second Judy on her question.
Yes, this one will be in the auction sometime today. I'll update my blog with the sale price when they post it on the Barrett Jackson web site.
"To the Batcave, Robin!"
I've watched the auction on TV many times and found it fascinating. Lucky you to actually go there.
Love yesterday's woodpecker too.
That guy with the can of pop in the last photo had better not lean over too far!
Holy Batmobile! Awesome!
Amazing!
I just read that Batmobile sold for $4.2 million. I think it's amazing that you were there and got theses impressive photos.
