The Palo Verde tree is the state tree of Arizona and right now, they are blooming all over the city. The beautiful yellow blooms and the green branches make such an eye-pleasing combination. When the wind blows, you can see the tiny petals of the yellow flowers falling like rain all around the tree and creating a yellow carpet on the ground below.

Such a beautiful beautiful tree. Too bad it doesn't live very long. The rocks are celebrating on the yellow carpet underneath.
Ooh I think that equals hayfever. Very pretty tree though.
I maxed the photo, and the blossoms certainly seem abundant on the tree.
love that yellow mat of pollen.
Beautifully captured against that tin building, the yellow carpet stands out.
I love that circle of yellow on the ground under the tree. Very pretty!
Lovely photo, Sharon. I do remember those trees.
Yes, I call this yellow snow, but not the bad kind. :)
It is nice to see the yellow palo verde trees all over town. The brief storm we had the other day knocked a lot of the blossoms off the trees.
Well, shoot. I thought the state tree was the saguaro cactus. Maybe that's the state cactus.
That's a lovely tree!
You must have been on the outskirts of town to find this old metal building! I sure miss this time of year in Phoenix. I always love the color of palo verdes against that blue-blue-blue desert sky.

I do wish they would grow here.
Yes, there's a lovely carpet there.
Achoo!
Oh, yes, I love those yellow blooms against our beautiful blue skies! It is one of my favorite parts of Spring here.
