Stickers & Stickers

On Sunday a very good friend and artist, Ted Wolter had a small private showing of some of his fantastic ceramics.  Those of us there were eagerly snatching up our favorite pieces.  Here is Julie Pace of Scottsdale Daily Photo showing off the price stickers from all of the pieces she bought while posing next to a much more prickly kind of sticker.   She is also holding one of her prized acquisitions.

Our friend Ted is an art teacher at the Chandler-Gilbert Community College and he is also part of the Art Challenge group that I've been involved with for the past year.  You can see some of the art challenge work by all of the artists in the group here and you can see some of Ted's other works here.

And yes, I picked up a few pieces for my collection too!

Awesome! The name Ted Wolter rings a bell of when I was attending GCC and isn't he the one who designed the benches downtown Chandler?
Way to go!

Julie had quite a day. I wonder how many of her acquisitions were gifts and how many will find cherished places in her home.

When I saw all the little things on her hands at first I thought she had fallen into the cholla and those were little band-aids!

Thanks for the links; I enjoyed viewing them. The Art Project sounds like a great activity! Your portrait of Julie is lovely; she looks pretty happy. The jacket she's wearing makes me wonder about the temperature.

I'd say Ted is lucky to have such avid supporters...but then again, it appears his work is worthy of such support.

I knew that was Julie right away. I've seen that smile on some other blogs! :-)

sharon, this is the best way to shop during the holiday season, direct from an artist at a holiday gathering :) Ted's work is amazing and he did design the benches in downtown chandler.

Julie is getting pretty close to that cactus. Sounds like you had a nice time.

I'm glad to see that you and Julie were doing your part to keep the economy strong. :)

A fine portrait, Sharon. I can guess what Julie and Dave will be giving for holiday gifts this year . . .

So sorry I could not attend this one but I have a feeling I will be receiving something for Christmas. Ted is so talented not only with ceramics but also his paintings. And of course, love the photo of Julie.

Sounds like a fun day meeting up with other bloggers. I'm a bit worried about how close Julie is to that dangerous looking cacti

Wow Julie purchased many pieces. I have a hard time resisting this type of art.

I hope your going to show us at least one of the pieces you bought.

The people who work for Julie and me look forward to receiving gifts of Ted's pottery. Today we had a little gathering in the office and gave one of Ted's pieces to everyone. They were a big hit, as always.

Looks like Julie cleaned up at that sale!

There is no better gift (holidays or otherwise) than a Ted Wolter original... I am not biased at all.
