If you live in one of the apartments in this downtown tower you get a good view of the incoming flights headed for the airport. I shot this from a distance using the telephoto lens which makes this plane look as if it's flying a bit too close to the building. Nothing to worry about. It was a good distance away.

I love planes,I was an Olympic airways member and I like places near the airports!
Merry Christmas,regards from Thessaloniki.

Wow it does look like it is right next to the building,
Incoming planes are better seen than heard.
Yes, I'm with Dave. Nothing like listening to jet engines all day long when you live close to a large airport (unless it's when you live close to a railroad track!).
Wow, great shot...Looks close!
Oh my. I hope the sound insulation is good.
A view with audio! Great picture.
Excellent capture Sharon, you could make up a few different scenarios about this shot if you didn't know the facts!!
It would take a while to get used to that, but I guess you could. I always think it is interesting when people build next to a busy airport and then they complain about the noise.
If that's the building next to the ballpark, I think it's empty still. No residents to see the planes go by.
However, it is a nice photo.
The perfect place to live if you're a plane spotter!
I'd be ever so slightly afraid of noisy evenings...
It must be exciting at times but I guess you get used to it!
No, thanks, I am not interested in renting here. After watching one or two planes come in, it wouldn't be especially captivating.
You must have hard your camera at the ready...not an easy shot to get sharp with a long lens! Interesting colors on that building, too!
I think I'd prefer trains! But what a nice apartment complex with those colors and transparent balcony rails. Very cool.
I don't think I would be able to sleep with that noise.
As a former flight attendant (oh, those were the days!) I spent lots of time hanging around airports so this is a familiar scene. Still miss the hustle and bustle of travel, and I am not one of the jaded passengers of this century...I still love to travel by air, despite the many inconveniences. Teaching was fun but really was no match. Nope, I really don't mean that since I loved the students, yet...!! I have a secret fantasy of driving one of those little carts around the terminal, picking up all kinds of interesting people. DH just sighs when I mention it.
Great timing and composition!
