Garden Art
The Desert Botanical Garden has had some new sculptures on display for a few months now and I’ve been very remiss in showing them to you. They are not my favorite kind of sculptures so I wasn’t that inspired to photograph them. However, I did get a couple of photos back in May and I thought they turned out pretty good so I thought I’d share them with you. After all, just because it isn't my favorite, doesn't mean it won't appeal to you.
The artist is Ludvic and the series of sculptures is called Steel Jam Sessions. The details on the show say that “Ludvic finds materials in junk yards and reworks them into lively, impromptu compositions.” I’ll let you all be the judge on this one.
I’ll show you one more tomorrow.

Hmmmm...I like the context you've chosen - the primary colours against the green - more than the sculptures themselves.
The sculpture is a bit busy and it certainly stands out in that environment.
For a garden sculpture, the geometry of this does not seem organic to me.
Different strokes for different folks, right?
I wouldn't buy it for myself, Sharon, but I actually think it is pretty good and stands out in its place. You captured it nicely.
Yesterday I was at Boston's Museum of Fine Art, which was hosting a Chihuly exhibition. I thought of you, especially with the 50 foot high yellow spiky tower that resembled some you have posted.
To see this, get up early and try to beat the heat... if you can.
I can't figure out what they are but I like the colors and I do like the junk yard art, although I think it looks better if it is rusty.
I like it - especially in the surroundings!
I like to find sculpture anywhere as it adds a break to the usual and can be unexpected. I think these sculptures are perfect in a garden.
I like it but not in a garden. Maybe in front of a modern city building.
I don't really see musical instruments, but that is what I thought of when I first saw these. Then you said they were titled "Steel Jam Sessions". I'm guessing that's what the artist was trying to convey. Bright colors!
I'm with Jarart. A little rust would go a long way here.
