The Loft
I discovered this interesting building in downtown Phoenix. It is tall enough to have two floors but, there are no windows in it.A sign on the other side of the building says it houses Community Legal Services.
Although I have worked in downtown Phoenix for years, I do not recall seeing this building. If it is the height of a two story building but without windows, maybe there is a loft inside, originally designed for management to look down on the workers below.
The building where the armed forces recruiting station is in downtown Phoenix has a mezzanine level with low ceilings and windows looking down into the lobby. The building used to be a department store and the mezzanine was the executive offices were, and the bosses cold look down on the main sales floor. The Phoenix Symphony has their offices there now.
This is great! Love the composition, colors and design. And the two men walking adds something to the shot! Greetings from Gunn / Stavangerdailyphoto.com
I love interesting doorways but I think my greatest interest was drawn to the two pedestrians! What a great series of people shots this locale with such a marvelous doorway and a nice colorful wall for a background would make!
Fascinating. Very interesting doors. Maybe it's built Mexican style with a center courtyard open to the sky? No windows could make it a very dark and unhappy place.
Great photo, though...the two guys finish it off perfectly!
Hope you get some rain. I remember how dry it was usually, but boy did we get some gullywashers on occasion!
Pretty odd. I can't imagine lawyers willing to work in a windowless environment. Most lawyers I know are pretty high on their own creature comforts. This photo is terrific. Your decision to wait until the two pedestrians were almost out of the photo was inspired.
It's such a well-balanced photo. Love the color, the doorway, the pedestrians, the simplicity of the name...great all the way around. I would guess some kind of lounge or bar.
This is such an eye catching picture! The color and that door with the sign above...it's all just great. The people add to the interest. I wouldn't want to work all day in a building with no windows but I guess in the summer it would be easier to keep cool.

Excellent capture Sharon. Love the color! That really is an interesting doorway.

I like this one. Soothing colors.
Great shot - love the composition. Hope there are skylights or an atrium!
Makes for a nice photo. I've always enjoyed plain walls in a minimalist composition.
I like the way you capture the people in this shot.
Is it possible they don't need to look out on the world to get a sense of perspective?
